And then, the world falls.

The one thing that was going to hold all of my plans together for the next two weeks,
just fell through. I mean, seriously, this company sent me a two sentence paragraph to say “sorry, we messed up, and you’re money you earned from your music sales is going to be arriving a week later.”  So, does that mean that I get to go to their door on Christmas, take all of the gifts from under their tree, throw them all away, and say “Sorry?” (And this is much bigger situation business-wise, but I won’t get into that.) Anyway, I wrote this, in light of that.

“Lightbulbs Have Longer Lives Than Cowards”

Everything
is going
as
planned.

It’s not sunny out,
but that
is
okay.

Plans are staying on track,
even better
than
usual.

And then, the world falls
and all hell
breaks
loose.

I notice the rain
hasn’t stopped
for days
now.

I realize that you
are not
here
yet.

Damn the torpedoes
I am going
into
battle.

And when the clouds break
and the sun
shines
again…

I’ll look back on this
battle between hell,
and smile
victoriously.
