Guilty Admission
I’ve spent like ten minutes watching the videos on the Countdown to Election blog. They’re youtube clips from across the world of people counting down to the closing of polls on the west-coast and declaration of Barack Obama’s victory.
After watching a few, it gets kinda surreal since they all hit the same tempo of counting down, half-heartedly celebrating at the end of the countdown, and then really freaking out a second or two later as the “Barack Obama Elected President” text appears on the screen.
I did not know about this Countdown blog until now. Is it bad that after watching about 4 of the videos I had the biggest fucking smile on my face and a couple of tears were finding their way from my eyes? Maybe I’m just getting sappier as I get older? But regardless, I think watching these: 1) takes me back to the moment I saw Obama’s win flash on the screen and 2) makes me so glad to see everyone else reacting the same way I did.
