Dear YouTube Fans.

And I absolutely do NOT mean all of my new YouTube fans… I’m talking about a small amount of the ones that just don’t get it. The ones that only know what mainstream radio is aside from YouTube. The ones that would probably never take the time to read this blog because it’s longer than two sentences…

I’m sorry that this new music project of mine doesn’t result in me being like almost every other YouTube artist. From what I can gather, I’m a very indie-minded artist coming into a very mainstream arena, and it’s becoming quite obvious that many of you just don’t get that not everyone likes to put autotune on their voice. Not everyone wants every part of every song to be absolutely perfect…. Sorry, I like for my songs to have a bit more character than that. And trust me, I absolutely love a well-produced pop song… But give me a fucking break… I’m literally recording these songs in a bedroom with two mics and a recording program from 2001, and not to mention shooting the videos with a camera that’s actually just a tiny point and shot.

Also, sorry my new single seems to be too scary for you because it’s not a simple love song. I guess some of you don’t like to actually have introspective thoughts when listening to music.

And please, to those of you that leave the “tips” for me on music in YouTube comments… just stop. I’m not new to music. Take a second and Google the name Backseat Goodbye to find out that I’ve kind of been at this music thing for a while with a bit of success on my own (and I mean this not in a cocky way, but in a way that is just stating a fact that just because you haven’t heard of an artist doesn’t mean you should assume they don’t know what they’re doing ;)

End of rant.

I’ll also say, for the most part I’ve loved jumping on this YouTube bandwagon. Most of you YouTube folk have welcomed me with open arms. I appreciate every single subscriber, fan, and listener… But sometimes when I see things that just aren’t right, I just have to say something.
