Can I just say…

First off: Yes, I curse. I use curse words on a daily basis. However, that should not affect anyone’s perception of me, or my overall character.

I say this, because I just received a comment on YouTube from a subscriber saying that when they heard me curse in one of my recent vlogs it disappointed them, and now they’re thinking about un-subscribing from me, despite the fact that they stated they like my music. They also said they didn’t think I was a nice person anymore because of the cursing. (And I’m really not trying to single this person out. I fully respect their view, however, it just made me feel weird because they said it made me a bad person.)

Trust me, I get it… When I was younger I used to think cursing was bad, too. I actually didn’t even use the word “crap” until I was literally a teenager (seriously, no joke at all.) However, I grew up, and realized, they’re just words…. Just like how ‘tree’, or ‘ghost hamburger’ or ‘love’ are words. 

The thing is, I curse to give emphasis on other words. I don’t curse at people to hurt them. I do my absolute best to not use curse words around small children or anywhere it’s not appropriate.

And about me not being ‘nice’ because I curse… I really like to think that if you asked anyone who’s met me in person, they’d say I’m a pretty nice person. I am NOT perfect at all, but I wake up daily and do my best to be kind to people, and bring hopeful things into the world.

I dunno. And I’m not even upset about this by any major means… This is just something that’s always irked me in the back of my head, so I felt like talking about it.
